KG, Carl Zeiss AG (collectively “we” or “us”) is the data controller of any personal data provided by you (“you”) in connection with the “Digital Shapers 2018” event (the “Event”).
When participating to the Event, you may provide us with personal data about you, such as your name, mailing address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number, and further information required to participate in the Event. This personal data is provided to us on voluntary basis, however, please note that certain information may be required to participate in the Event and refraining from providing this information may lead to exclusion from the Event. Should the information you provide to us also relate to any other individual than you, you have to ensure that the respective other person has consented to the provision of his personal information.
We will use the data provided by you only to the extent necessary to conduct the Event, evaluate your project and personal qualifications and interact with you which is justified by our respective legitimate interests (according to applicable law and Art. 6 para 1 lit. f) of the EU Regulation 679/2016).
We may share your personal data with our subsidiaries and affilates, but will not share your information with any third party, unless this is strictly required for the above purposes (in accordance with Art. 6 para 1 lit. f) of the EU Regulation 679/2016), for example, processing recruitment materials, administering the Event, or communicating with you. We may in particular share your personal data with the other organizers of the Event, namely Airbus SAS (Kreetslag 10, 21129 Hamburg, Germany), Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA (Carl Bertelsmann-Straße 270, 33311 Gütersloh, Germany), Deutsche Lufthansa AG (Flughafen-Bereich West, 60546 Frankfurt/Main, Germany), Metro Cash & Carry Deutschland GmbH (Metro-Straße 8, 40235 Düsseldorf, Germany ), SAP Deutschland SE & Co. KG (Hasso-Plattner-Ring 7, 69190 Walldorf, Germany), Carl Zeiss AG (Carl-Zeiss-Straße 22, 73447 Oberkochen, Germany) solely to the extent required for conducting the Event. The use of your personal data by these recipients is subject to their own privacy policies and applicable laws. Some of the recipients of your personal data, including our third party service providers and our subsidiaries and affiliates, may be located outside the European Economic Area and be subject to data protection and privacy laws which do not provide an equivalent level of data protection as provided in your home country. In this case we have put in place legal mechanisms designed to ensure adequate data protection of your personal data. Beyond this we will only disclose your personal information to third parties if this is required under provisions of applicable law.
We will request your separate consent for contacting you for recruiting purposes via the contact data you provided to us.
We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security to protect personal information from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction. Only authorized personnel and third party service providers are provided access to personal data, and these employees and service providers are required to treat this information as confidential.
Subject to statutory data retention obligations we retain all personal data provided by you as long as necessary for the performance of the Event and beyond this term if you have consented to being contacted for recruiting purposes. If you request that we delete your personal information before the Event has ended, we will delete all instances of the information in their entirety as soon as reasonable possible.
You may have the right to request access to the personal data that we have collected about you for the purposes of reviewing, modifying, or requesting deletion of the data. You may also have the right to request a copy of the personal data that we have collected about you. In certain circumstances, you may also request that we cease processing your personal information. If we collect or process your personal information on the basis of your separate consent you may withdraw this consent any time without giving reasons with effect for the future.
